Invisalign

Would you like to improve your smile, but feel that you do not want others to know you are wearing braces. With Invisalign you can now have the orthodontic treatments that are a great alternative to the old unsightly metal braces. Invisalign works through the use of a series of custom aligners, and you do not have to endure painful, wires or bands.

Invisalign is the Clear Choice
Because Invisalign uses a series of clear trays to shift teeth, patients avoid irritating brackets and the unsightly appearance of metal orthodontia. An estimated 1,000,000 people have chosen to straighten their teeth with Invisalign. Benefits include:

  • Gradual movement of teeth
  • Imperceptible treatment option
  • Less inconvenience
  • Removable aligners
  • Shorter treatment time frame

How does the Invisalign Treatment Progress
The dentist will first take impressions of your teeth and digitized them. With these impressions, the dentist will create and manipulate a computerized image of your teeth. Using the 3-D model, the dentist will plan out the movement of the teeth, making custom aligners which will be generated to fit your specific case. Every couple of weeks, patients will change the aligners as prescribed by the dentist. The aligners will gradually reposition the teeth little by little until you can enjoy a straight, attractive smile.

FAQs about Invisalign

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

The benefits are getting that great smile, without the use of those embarrassing and unsightly metal braces. You can maintain your image, for those that may be more mature. The other advantage is they are removable, so this will allow you to eat, brush and floss without worrying of food particles being collected in various areas.

Will Invisalign aligners straighten my child’s teeth?

Because they still have baby teeth that need room to come out, dentists don’t recommend Invisalign for young children. As well, most kids don’t have the discipline needed to wear, care for, and keep up with the Invisalign aligners.

How long does treatment last?

Since every individual case is different there is no real straight answer here, however the average length of time to straighten a smile is approximately 6 to 18 months, which is often less time than going with the traditional orthodontic therapy. You will have to have regular checkups so your dentist can monitor your progress.
Since the aligners are removable, can I take them out whenever I want?

For the best and least amount of time to get that great smile, you will need to wear your aligners on a consistent basis for about 22 hours per day minimum. However, you can take the aligners out for eating, brushing, or on special occasions.
