A tiny titanium screw that functions similarly to a natural tooth root is called a dental implant. The implant provides a stable, long-lasting dental restoration when it is inserted into your jawbone.
Missing teeth pose a health risk because they can lead to tooth decay from spaces between teeth or the breakdown of your jawbone from teeth moving around the gap. This could change the way your face looks and lead you to age too soon. If one or more of your teeth are missing, our dental team at Cedar Dental Centre in Cambridge can help restore your smile with dental implants.
Your new dental implants can be completed in as few as three dentist visits. In order to create personalized crowns for your precise measurements in our laboratory, we will take impressions of your mouth at your initial visit. We also address any questions you might have and go over what we will be doing during the treatment. The implants will be placed and cemented into your jawbone during the second visit. The implants will integrate into the bone once the gums heal completely. After the implant has been tested for full integration and has had enough time to heal, the third appointment will take place. You will eventually have brand-new teeth that feel and look just like your own natural teeth after your crowns are attached during this period.
